Ár n-uirlisí aimsire féin i Rang a Sé!

Le déanaí bhí Rang a Sé ag féachaint ar an sórt aimsir a mbíonn againn in Éirinn. Bhíomar ag féachaint ar an aimsir is coitianta, ag déanamh comparáidí le tíortha difriúla agus ansin phlé muid an ceist, “conas is féidir linn ár n-eolas a fháil faoin aimsir”? D’fhéachamar ar na huirlisí aimsire a mbíonn in úsáid ag MET Éireann mar shampla- an treoir báisteach is an gaoth eite. Mar gheall ar seo, rinneamar iarracht ár n-uirlisí féin a cruthú sa rang! Bhí na torthaí fíor suimiúil toisc go raibh smaointí is modhanna difriúla ag na grúpaí. Thóg na páistí isteach a rudaí féin cosúil le buideal, páipéir is rolla páipéir leithreas. D’oibrigh an rang go dian!

Recently Rang a Sé has been looking at the sort of weather we have in Ireland. We were looking at the most frequent weather, comparing Ireland with other countries and then we discussed the question, “how can we get our information about the weather”? We looked at the weather instruments that MET Éireann use for example- the rain gauge and the wind vane. As a result of this, we made a great effort to make our own instruments in the classroom! The results were really interesting since each group had different ideas and ways of working. The children brought in their own items like bottles, paper and a toilet tissue roll. They worked really hard!
